The Bright
Futures Activity Book is
a great way to teach your young child about
health and safety. Set aside some special time,
pick up a few crayons and markers, and get
ready to have fun! As you go through the book
together, color, draw, fill in the blanks,
tell stories, and talk about staying healthy
and being safe. Working together will provide
you and your child with an opportunity to share
ideas and experiences about nutrition, fitness,
self-expression, safety, and oral health.
And
if you look very carefully, you'll discover a Bright
Futures sun on each page. See how many you and your
child can find.
Feel
free to print pages from the book, copy them, and share
them with friends and relatives. Proudly display your
child's accomplishments at home, school, or work. Most
of all, have a good time!

Bright
Futures Is Everybody's Business-- Health Promotion
Works
Ensuring
that children are healthy and safe requires the participation
of family members, health professionals, and other
community members. To strengthen these relationships,
several of the activities in the Bright Futures
Activity Book have been created for sharing with
family and community members such as your child's grandparent,
doctor, dentist, or teacher.
Bright
Futures is based on the principle that the health and
safety of our children depends on the wellness of families
and communities. The Bright
Futures Activity Book is designed
to increase your child's understanding and appreciation
of good health and to lay a foundation for lifelong
healthy habits.
The
content of the Bright Futures Activity Book is
based on Bright Futures: Guidelines for Health Supervision
of Infants, Children, and Adolescents.
