The guidelines are consistent with those of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and were developed with the support of the Health Resources and Services Administration's Maternal and Child Health Bureau.

This curriculum will run on Macintosh and Windows systems. It requires the equivalent of a 200 MHz Pentium PC with 24 megabytes of memory running Windows 95, 98, or NT or a Macintosh running OS 8 or later. It runs in either Netscape or Internet Explorer browsers of Version 4.0 and later. It requires no plug-ins but some materials do require the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.
