Health
education provides children, teens, and families with valuable
information about the benefits of healthy habits and lifestyles,
as well as ways to prevent illness and injuries.
Anticipatory
guidance helps families to understand what to expect
during their child's or teen's current and approaching
stages
of development.
The drop-down
menus below offer suggested health and guidance
topics for specific visits from infancy
through adolescence. These topics may be used selectively
in talking with the family and may be modified to better
fit the need of specific populations.
You may
also want to hand out age-appropriate
information based
on Bright Futures to begin a conversation with the family
and to more fully involve them in their child's
health (this information may be downloaded and printed
free of charge).
