The module discusses recommended guidelines, periodicity, and age-appropriate methods for screening and risk assessment. Risk is determined by history, interview, observation, physical examination, and objective testing when indicated.

Screening for lead, anemia, and other conditions is addressed in Module 4, Screening with Laboratory Tests.
