Overview
Module
6 focuses on effective health education and anticipatory
guidance. The module identifies important anticipatory guidance
topics and offers suggestions for guidance that is developmentally-appropriate
during health visits in infancy, childhood, and adolescence.
Users who complete
the Health Education/Anticipatory Guidance module should be able
to answer the following questions:
- What are some
effective topics for health education and/or anticipatory guidance?
- When should
anticipatory guidance be provided?
- How does anticipatory
guidance benefit the family, child, or teen?
- What are the
characteristics of a teachable moment?
- How can anticipatory
guidance be personalized to meet the specific needs of each child
