Module 7: Developmental/Behavioral Health

Overview

Time needed to complete Module 10: 30 minutesModule 7 provides a framework for integrating developmental and behavioral surveillance within each well-child visit. Divided into four developmental stages—infancy, early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence—the module helps providers to:

  • Promote healthy development
  • Ask child-centered and family-focused developmental questions
  • Observe parent-child interactions
  • Monitor developmental milestones and markers
  • Screen with validated tools
  • Provide anticipatory guidance and parenting tips
